Review #1 for Bon Gusto Bakery & Deli
Deli-cious
After snacking on some of KFC's new boneless buffalo wings last night, I needed to eat something I felt was healthy for lunch today. I remembered seeing a new deli in the Garcia shopping center the other day and hoped to have myself a sandwich to satisfy the craving.
I grabbed a menu and found that Bon Gusto offered quite a bit of variety ranging from salads to sandwiches to snacks and even breakfast. I wanted to start off with something I could compare against from other restaurants, so I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries and a soda. The best chicken sandwich I've had is from China Palace Steakhouse and was hoping this one would come near in taste.
Upon receiving my order, I realized that the chicken sandwich was much larger and the chicken breast was plump. It had romaine lettuce, tomatoes, diced red onions and some chipotle mayonaisse. All this was enclosed in a toasted sourdough bread. Needless to say, the sandwich was delicious and the fries with their slight seasoning were good. It did turn out to be a little unwieldy, so next time I'll ask to have it sliced in halves.
I'm glad to have found a place like Bon Gusto in El Centro. With Disfrutalow in Calexico, I now have a new place to order a nice healthy meal and continue to pass on the fast food. Next time I'll try something different off the menu.
