Another favorite eat of mine from Mex are the hot dogs. You can find yourself a stand in just about every neighborhood and most are generally good.
The last place I ate one was at the one next to McDulces, which were good, but I prefer mine with the tocino wrapped around the weenie ( ) and you had to sprinkle it on top here.
Last night though, after getting wasted at the Audio/Psy-fi show, we went to Hot Dogs A Tu Gusto in front of la Uni (UABC for you uncool folks). The establishment is very clean, as clean as you can be on the side of the road, and they make the hot dogs my prefered way while offering a variety of condiments (queso, cebollas, guacamole, champiñones, salsa, chiles, frijoles, chorizo and more).
I had myself four and some orange soda. They were delicious. |

| Dude! Where you that drunk? You had no orange soda. You had half of my Coke. But the dogs were delicious. I had never eaten them with a pound of greasy chorizo on top. I’m sure that if the gods in Mt. Olympus knew about hotdogs, that’s the way they would eat them. |

There is this other place in San Marcos in Mexicali. It's on either 3rd or 4th (whichever one drives north).
The hot dogs there are deeee-licious.
The only downfall is that it is no where near any bars or clubs so you're going there because you are in the mood for hot-dogs, not because you have to satisfy your drunk hunger.
They have all the condiments including grilled onions marinated in mustard. The best part is that the hot dogs only cost between 8-10 pesos* (I can't remember which one) a piece.
*Broke-Drunk Tip:
If you're low on cash and really hungry you can just ask for the bun and make yourself a hot dog with all the condiments. Just put a lot of chorizo, bacon, onions, etc. They always charge you a lot less and you still get full. |

I had half of someone elses orange soda too, so in total I had a full soda that I didn't even pay for.

I'm sure they ate their own hot dogs. |

I have 2 favorite hot dog places in mex. 1 is in Calz. Anahuac ( heading towards the new jail), it is on your right side and it is named Los chicos fresa, those hot dogs are the shit, the look like tortas by the time you finish putting all the condiments on them. That's what I like most about them, that they just give you the bread and winnie, and you prepare it yourself, so you can stuff it with bacon and chilli beans if you like.
The other place is in Santa Monica, on that one street that is right in front on san marcos crossing Blvd. Lazaro Cardenas. You head straight for about 4 blocks and it's on your left hand side in a cart outside of a house. The hot dogs there are made with Polish weiners, so you can imagine how huge they are. They cost 25 pesos, but you'll get full with one, ahhh and the hamburgers there are also delicious. I highly recommend this place for a cheap tastefull dinner. They are only open fridays and saturdays. |

Oh!!! That place. That's like every other hot dog place in mex.
Could you be a little more specific. |

I found them quite tasty, but certainly not superior to some of the other places I've eaten at.
The one thing that they have going for them, though, is that the buns they use appear to come straight from a bakery. That in itself makes this place a unique find. |
