What would you guys consider to be the best companies to work for in the Imperial Valley? Take into consideration benefits, hours, atmosphere etc...

I've heard that one of the best places to work for is UPS. If you're a driver, then you have a good chance of stealing packages and making additional income on the side.

When you get really good at it, you already know what's inside certain packages and your customers can depend on you for good merchandise.

I always thought that the best employers in the valley would be the County, Imperial Office of Education (or school districts), IID and/or VIB. The problem with the first two is that they are state funded and with the new governor they aren't very dependable for the next few years. I don't know too much about IID, but know that their billing/financial system is/was a mess. VIB is no longer local; they are owned by a Scandinavian corporate bank so that means that top level decisions are no longer locally made. They say they still have full control of themselves, but I don't know.

What exactly are you looking for? I know everyone wants a high paying job, but be a little more reasonable. You can live quite comfortable, so they say, with a decent wage. Are you looking for something long-term? If so, start applying for law enforcement like Border Patrol, state/federal prisons, etc.; but invest in a shotgun so you can blow your brains out once you can't deal with life anymore.
