As I drove in today into this lovely city I was welcomed by the Calexico Police Department's DUI checkpoint on Highway 98. It was only 5 PM and how miserable it must be for anyone to get picked up at such an early time. I had to comment on the CPD's timing for such a procedure and the officer's response was simply, "Yeah, we'll see what happens."

So I'm driving down 98 a couple hours later and I spot a couple wrongdoers on the Circle A parking lot arguing over who was going to buy the next 20 pack. While doing so, they were each holding a can of Coors Light and drinking publicly. I thought it was pretty fucked up, so I notified the cops.

Am I a dick?

So what if your mom was on her way back home from some last minute gift shopping and these drunks ended up smashing right into her driver's side door at about 40 miles an hour?

I might have possible saved someone's life last night.

This maybe true, but you asked if you are a dick, and the answer to that is "yes".

You're right. So if it takes being a dick to do some good in life, then so be it.

In the overall sense, no. You did the right thing.

On a personal level? Yes, you are a dick. But, I would have done the same thing just to be a dick. I hate "partay!" motherfuckers like that, and I expect them to be sodomized for their behavior.

Merry Christmas!

Exactly. I saw these fuckers and they were acting "all bad ass" drinking in public. You have to be really fucking stupid to be doing that in an open area right next to one of the busiest intersections in Calexico.

Next time I won't let anyone know about my crime fighting, but in the future when you realize how much more civilized this city is you can reflect back on this post.
