I thought that I read a post in the past regarding a galleon with lost treasure containing pearls located somewhere in the Imperial Valley, but I couldn't pull up a search. Anyway, I found a reprint of an article from Lost Treasure magazine that has a thorough background on the story.

Quite an interesting read.

Right before my brother went to prison, he was caught breaking into a house. When he fled the scene with a bag for full of jewelry worth a good amount, he hid them somewhere that would be impossible for anyone to find. Only he knows exactly where it is and he said it is worth a few grand. I have an idea of were it might be. but I can't go looking for it without looking suspicious. That would be another treasure worth looking for that is more attainable that a mythical treasure.

Quick, give me some clues as to where the goods are stashed and I'll retrieve them without drawing any suspicion toward you. Then, we'll meet behind the dumpster at Stark Field and split the booty*.

Very interesting. I was not aware of this until today. Sounds a lot more plausible than the Viking longboat legend, too.

I'm gonna do some more research on the subject and, hopefully, organize another one of my fruitless expeditions.

We ain't found shit!

It's hard locating solid info on the subject, man. It'd make one hell of a field trip, though.

I'm assuming you found this reply regarding an inquiry on the vessel:

To the south lie the mysterious and drab Superstition Hills, home of quicksand

Holy crap! I never knew we had quicksand in the Imperial Valley! Shocked
