I finally went to the Costco in Mexicali this past weekend for the first time ever. Very similar to Costcos in the United States, they carry most of the stocked items over here as well as some Mexican products.
First of all, it is very clean and well organized... In case someone was wondering.
Electronics-wise, they seem to carry more items than the El Centro location. They have Sony products; everything from TVs to PDAs. The prices appear to be about the same.
As I quickly strolled by all the aisles, I noticed a food stand in near the center. It was a cafeteria-like setup where you could order some paella. They definitely provide a lot more product sampling than any other Costco I've been too.
Alcohol selection was decent. The majority being national drinks. Kahlua was pretty cheap at around 65 pesos for 1 liter. They also carried 12 packs of Noche Buena, but the pricing was similar to that of any liquor store that carries this seasonal beer.
Your US Costco card is accepted, but they need to place a bar-code-like sticker on it so you can purchase items. Not a big deal, but I recommend you get it when you first step into the warehouse.
Anyway, I'd like to see Ame-ricano relocate to the Mexicali Costco. I think that it could possibly change his views on Chicalones. |

I could never work in Mexicali, I would get eaten alive. I might be fluent in Spanish, but I dont speak Chicalon or Chilango very well. I know the Costco in Mexicali is a good store, most Costcos are nice.
If you want to see a shitty Costco, you must visit the one in Chula Vista. It makes California Market look like Vons. |

So just cause that Costco is in Mexicali you had the presumption that it would be messy and unorganized? I see you've been hanging around Ame-ricano. As hard as it is for people to see this, Mexicali does have some nice places to go, such as restaurants, stores, theaters, parks, etc... I myself would much better prefer to go to the Wal-Mart in Mexicali than the one in Calexico, since the one in calexico is a messy piece of shit, since all the lower class mexicali residents go there. I've noticed that the higher class mexicali residents come to the Wal-Mart in El Centro instead.

There is no such thing as a high-class Mexicali resident; only Chicalones with money. Fuck 'em. |

No. I knew it wouldn't be, but I had a feeling someone was either going to bring up the question, make the claim or even think it.
Preventive affirmation (or what would you call it?). |

That's only because it's an American owned store, other wise... |

I'm just fucken'
It's only 50% American owned the 50% is Mexican. An American can't own buisness in Mexico. The CEO, Jim Sinegal, signed a partnership with a Mexican to run the Mexico warehouses.
I was just trying to piss off pato, but I felt bad. |
