Can anyone think of good movies that were ruined by happy endings?
The only one I can think of is Ransom. That movie should have ended with Gary Sinise in the hospital bed being thanked by Mel Gibson for rescuing his son.
That ending sucked. |

Falling Down: Detective Prendergast shoots and kills D-FENS. But it's alright, you see, because halfway though the movie, we find out he had emotional problems....
A.I.: Should have ended with David pleading with the Blue Fairy statue until his energy cell ran out. But no, the movie keeps going and we get those fucking aliens. The worst part? It was Kubrick's idea. Asshole.
Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings: Ended halfway through The Two Towers -- over 20 years ago. |

Oh, man, I felt the exact same way, when it happened. I really thought that was where it was going to end, but when it kept going, I was disappointed. They messed that one up. |

This has to be one of the worst endings ever. Very disappointing. |

| I'm sure most of you have heard this, but the director of Dumb and Dumber wanted Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels' characters to get on the Tropicana girls' bus at the end of the movie, to give the movie a happy ending. Jim Carey refused to even film one take with that ending, because he was sure they would put it in the final cut. This would have totally f-ed up the movie. The ending that the movie has is perfect! |

| That one where Denzel's kid needs a heart and he takes over a hospital should have ended with the kid dying. That would have been awesome! |
