Even as a young child, I was never really fond of Dr. Seuss' stories, so it comes as no surprise to myself that I have no interest whatsoever in seeing the recent movie for The Cat in the Hat, starring Mike Myers.
Now, that said, there is something that intrigues me about the film: the fact that The Cat looks like some sort of maniacal creature that just crawled up from deep within the bowels of Hell. I mean, Christ, that thing looks totally demented and evil. Who in their right minds would take their kids to see that movie? Therapy City. |

Yeah, but from what I know, The Grinch WAS suppose to be some sort of asshole, so I'm sure it fit his character. But, The Cat is suppose to be this suave and charismatic (and kid friendly) creature, not something that looks like a psychotic killer.
Not that I'm saying I'm against warping young, impressionable children's fragile minds; far from it. Very far from it. |

A friend of mine took his 3 1/2 year old daughter to the movies last week. He was showing her what movies she might want to see by looking at the posters. He said that when she saw the Cat in the Hat poster she started crying. |
