Reports are in stating that the Imperial Valley has contracted it's first case of West Nile virus (second in the state of California).

Sources state that the second phase of testing has confirmed that it is here and it's origin is the Salton Sea region. A press conference is to be held this afternoon to inform the public.

A 46-year-old Imperial County man was hospitalized with aseptic meningitis, an inflammation of the membrane surrounding the brain and spinal cord, in mid-October. He now is recovering at home.
