Hmmmm I could sense the smell of winter league baseball coming near. I can't hardly wait to sit down with my 1 liter cup of beer in one hand, my colita de puerco on the other, and my salchichas KIR on my lap. The comforting sound of people screaming "Umpire, la porra te saluda.... CHINGA TU MADRE !!!!" For those of you who have attended the Aguilas de Mexicali baseball games know exactly what I'm talking about. The quality of baseball is not as good as the Major Leagues, but it is not far behind, since many of the players play for Major League teams AAA farm system. The atmosphere in the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico baseball stadiums is unlike any other. I have attended a few Major League games in SD, and the truth is that they bore the hell out of me. The best players in the planet may be on the field, but without that mexican atmoshpere in the stands, there's no way you can stay awake for 3+ hours. Especially when you can't drink that much cause the beer is super expensive, and hey, where are the colitas de puerco???

Tickets for the Aguilas de Mexicali Inauguration game against the Naranjeros de Hermosillo (Orangers from little pretty for white people) go on sale starting this Monday, October 6 from 10am to 5pm. The game is on Friday October 10th, starting at 7pm (get there earlier to get good parking). I suggest you get them on Monday and not wait till wednesday or thursday, cause they will sell out. Especially with the remodeling that's going on in the stadium, people are anxious to go cheer for the AGUILAS !!! Prices range from about 5 bucks to about 20, since it's the inaugural game, prices will be much lower for regular season games. VAMOS AGUILAS !!!

A buddy of mine and me are planning on going to a few Aguilas games. Neither of us have been to one before, but we decided that we need to start taking advantage of whatever entertainment comes to the area. We got tired of complaining about there never being anything to do here, so we've decided to just enjoy what's available.

Maybe we should all get together and have a Calecia.com night at the Nido de Las Aguilas.

Most people are in the same situation, so when you find out about a new event, e-mail as much information about it to events@calecia.com. Then it'll be posted on Calecia.com Events for the world to see.

It's true about Mike Piazza playing for the Aguilas. That's why you see him doing a lot of Spanish interviews on Mexican television.

He's listed under the Equipo Ideal Aguilas del Centenario de Mexicali as the catcher.

WTF is John Kruck?

I know this one guy who was a U.S. Custom at the calexico port of entry, and he told me that when John Kruk played in mexicali, they once busted him crossing over with a joint in his possession. They didn't do shit to him cause it was only a joint. Just thought you might want to know.
