What's up with those signs that read "No on Recall, Yes on Bustamante"?
If you vote "no" on the recall, you can't vote "yes" on Bustamante!
I know what they're trying to say. They're saying, "Vote against the recall, but if you decide that you want to recall Davis, please vote for Bustamante." But if you think about it, they're basically campaigning for two candidates. It'd be like Republicans saying, "Vote for Bush...but if you no longer want Bush as our president, please vote for McCain." It just doesn't make sense. Pick a cause and stick with it. |

I think they chose their Party and are sticking with it. In this vote you can vote for two candidates. If you vote no on the recall you are inadvertently voting for Davis but you can still vote for one other candidate in case the recall is put into effect.

It makes sense now. I was under the impression that if you voted "no" on the recall, then you couldn't vote for another candidate.
So, basically we're back to just rooting for your team, and not what's best for the state. Which still doesn't support a true cause. |

This recall make all those stupid ass reality TV shows pale in comparison. What a pathetic joke.
A true cause would be to keep California from looking even more foolish than Florida. |

If this recall is successful, which it most likely will be, we'll never see the end of it. The majority of Californians voted for Gray Davis to be the governor and regardless of who is at fault for the state's turmoil, he should continue to serve his term. AFAIK, Davis hasn't ordered anyone to illegally kill people or received any type of sexual favors.
Now we have this muscle-bound actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, with no political history and an administration/advisors who are hated by minorities, mainly ex-governor of Calfornia Pete Wilson. He'll most likely win, because Californians are looking for some drastic change and he's promising it'll happen. Guess what?... It won't because once he goes into office he'll be told to STFU.
If this recall is what everyone wants, then the election process needs to be changed. There should be some type of 1 year "money back" guarantee that the official elected works properly, otherwise you can trade them in for someone else. This would've worked out great with George W. Bush, but we had this sorry excuse of 9/11 to nullify the warranty. |

I'm not voting for Schwarzenegger, but I'm against career politicians and think that what we need more of is regular people with no political history, because those with political history already have the hands of big business in their pockets.

I agree that the system should be changed to make it easier to get rid of politicians that fail to live up to their promises and/or make the country worse off than it was before they came into office. Maybe, we should have shorter term limits or have an annual assesment of their time in office. Or if the politicians' approval ratings dip to below 60% they should be automatically removed from office. |

| i believe that a clause should be put in that if someone votes no on the recall, then that person should not be allowed to vote for a replacement. |

I think this is how it was initially supposed to be, but then the news began reporting otherwise. |
