Size matters in soccer.

The taller, stronger, and faster players make all the money in soccer.

Europe is where the money is. Currently the only soccer player that is having success in Europe is Rafa Marquez. Guess why. Cuz he is tall and strong. Yes, Mexico did have Hugo Sanchez play over seas in the 80's, but thats just a few Mexican players.

Germany has won multiple world cups because their size is too much for most teams.

Have you seen Brazil? They are not the tallest, but they ain't short either. Plus, they have unbelievable speed with the ball. Roberto Carlos probably has the strongest leg in the world.

So size does matter.

Athletes in high school pick basketball and football because thats were all the chicks are at. Popularity. Also because SportCenter hypes these sports and not soccer. If they only knew that they could make millions playing soccer than they would do it.

Soccer is a WORLD sport.

I hope this was a rhetorical question.

So, is that "yes", or "no"?

Nope. From what it appears, Mexicali is more of a baseball city.

I didn't think they did, but I don't follow soccer, or go to Mexicali much anymore, so I thought there was a chance that they might.

The only way that soccer would ever be popular in the US would be if they started allowing time outs, because then they would be able to have commercials.

Soccer will be popular soon, but advertisers, first, need to figure out how to make the players, coaches, field, and stands into billboards.

I'm sure that pretty soon, soccer uniforms are going to resemble those of Nascar drivers.

Americans don't like soccer because it's society is racist.

Here in the Southwest if you play soccer you're labeled a 'chicalon'.

Across the nation many people would say, nah thats a beaner or european sport. It carries too many negative conotations.

Still, there is the term soccer moms for a reason. Many of Americans put their young 'animals' in soccer leagues. I've seen soccer leagues throught out California. They have a lot of teams and players.

One problem with soccer is that it cannot compete with the other sports. In high school soccer competes with basketball. If you had to attend a sport, you know to be cool and be 'seen' would you pick the soccer match or the basketball game.

Seriously, could you buy nachos and a soda at a soccer match.

In the Pro's like the REV said there's no money because there are no commercials.

It's all about the Benjamins.

you chicalon.
