I just got a note from Oscar De La Hoya reminding me about his fight this Saturday, September 13th against "Sugar" Shane Mosley. He says it's all about "REVENGE" for him.
Anyway, I used dislike De La Hoya mainly because I didn't pay much attention to his fights and the fact that he is much more attractive than me. But it wasn't until his bout with "Furious" ( ) Fernando Vargas that I gained respect for this fighter and became a fan of his. As a Mexican, I immediately hated Vargas because of his claim of being a "real" Mexican, but we could all see he was just a one time cholo and former rebel.
So what are your thoughts on this fight? What will be the outcome? |

I became a fan when he first beat Julio Cesar Chavez (who I was a fan of until I realized what a sore loser he was after De La Hoya beat him).
I'll be cheering for De La Hoya on Saturday and believe he will win...De La Hoya has more to lose than Mosely. |

This was one of the other reasons why I disliked De La Hoya. Julio Cesar Chavez was a hero, at least to most Mexicans, but little did everyone know that his own people already loathed him due to his drug abuse and extravagant lifestyle.
But in his prime, Chavez would have beat the shit out of De La Hoya.

He said he'll retire for sure if he loses to Mosely.
BTW, WTF do they call Oscar De La Hoya "The Golden Boy" when he's brown(ish)? |

Of course, Julio Cesar Chavez was damn near unstoppable in his prime, having won 90-bouts straight at one point.

But you must admit that it was kind of funny and sad that Chavez was on Fernando Vargas' side in that fight.

I believe that "Golden Boy" refers to the fact that he won a gold medal in the Olympics...although it might also refer to the cash cow (golden opportunity) that he is for many people. |

Well, I missed the fight having fallen asleep early. I read that Mosely won the decision even though ESPN.com had De La Hoya winning the bout 9 rounds to 3!
Man, I hope De La Hoya doesn't retire if he got screwed out of the title the way he did against Trinidad. |

| The one vote for Mosely was mine and I'm glad he won. De La Hoya has no heart anymore . |

F' De La Hoya, I'm glad he lost too. I don't care if Screech would have kicked his ass.
Oh, and for all you conspiracy makers, De La Hoya may have landed more punches, but it was Mosley's punches that made you go uh. De La Hoya was all cut up. |
