I asked a Vons striker the other day if they are getting paid and she said yes. $100 a week.

Wow, at this rate if they were to strike about 40 years after they were planning to retire from Vons, they can end up making the same amount of money they would have made anyways.

See, it all works out in the end.

Rumor has it that Vons in Calexico will be reopening in the near future as the brand name Safeway.

Anyone heard anything remotely close to this?

There must be a new grocery store opening up in the far east of Calexico.

Though opening up a grocery store on the east side of town makes perfect sense (appeal to the rich), who will sell that land? Land is too expensive on that side of town for a major grocery store. Plus, don't the major developers already own all that land?

Maybe some of that land on the North side of Cole Rd.

Do you mean the field's?

Would the Calexico elite really feel comfortable shopping on land that was grazed by so long by field workers?

Is Max Foods going to become a Lucky's?
