We need to start bringing in industries or factories, not markets.
Less competition, more jobs.
The paper factory we had was a good idea, anyone know why that went under? |

If someone does, you must share. |

Suckers. |
of course they did. every new business over hires so they could cover the busy first month. after that, they start seeing who is an asset and who is a liability. unfortunately for us, the chicali folk are the asset because they work for less and don't bitch. |

i actually spoke to an employee at Vons, and she said it had nothing to do with those factors. she said it was just that for the last two years, they just weren't meeting their goals. for two years they actually lost money. i guess spic-ole going late at nights for beans wasn't enough to help |

C'mon now. What did you expect. It takes a lot of people to start a new company. Think of it as Christmas time. What happens during the holidays. Stores hire more employers to handle the demand. Then once the demand starts to slow down then the obvious thing to do is fire your punk ass.
You guys say it like it was a big shock.
One guy came down from SD to work in the warehouse department. He was pulling in 75-85 hours a week. Now that the store has leveled off his hours were reduced to 40 hours. Since he can't make anymore overtime he is going back to SD and he's getting a different job. |

I'm not shocked that they laid off their employees...what is fucked up is that they started laying people off after being open for less than a month.
Another reason I mentioned the layoffs is because our government leaders like to throw numbers at us of how many people these companies will hire or have hired, but not the number that will be employed after the initial layoffs. |
