Attention! Attention!

Calecia.com is getting ready to offer another useful service to facilitate in making your everyday life better. This service is a local restaurant directory/guide (with a rating system) which will provide you with better decision making resources on where to eat.

How many times and how many minutes have you spent with someone trying to figure out what to eat for lunch or dinner? I can, for one, admit that I have been a casualty to this dilemma many a noon time...

elchrist says:
I dunno.

sk8mastert8 says:
?

elchrist says:
This place sucks.

sk8mastert8 says:
Yup.

Before we make Calecia.com Food & Drink "publicly" available, we'd like to ask for your assistance by participating in a "beta test*" of the service. Please look at what you find useful and how it could be improved upon. As well, think up of what could be missing that would be useful to you. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It looks good, but, people are going to need to participate in order to keep everything up to date.

Other than that, it should go smoothly.

Fuck that. I'm lazy.

How about having a phone survey service?
That way I can LIE to you and say that I'm super busy and can't spare 2-3 minutes.

I like the idea and am willing to give you my opinion about the restaurants I frequent.

I ate at the Subway in E.C. today and decide to rate it for Calecia.com, but I found that Subway isn't even listed. I understand that it's fastfood and you probably want to list only the more traditional type of restaurants, but how can you have Hamburger Stand* listed, but not Subway? There are four that I know of in the Valley. Two in E.C. (one by Staples and another by Max Foods), one in Brawley (inside the Big John's across the street from McDonald's), and one on the Navy Base. Also, it's my understanding that the Bulldog has closed down (although, I haven't personally gone to verify it). There's also another restaurant on the Navy Base, but I can't remember what it's called. Keep up the good work.

*By the way, I do enjoy Hamburger Stand.

You'll also notice there's no McDonald's, Jack in the Box, Denny's, Kentucky Fried Chicked, etc, etc, etc.

Probably the biggest reason to have Calecia.com Food & Drink is to rate the restaurants we have here. But another reason, which I think is just as important, is to make people aware of the restaurants that they might not otherwise know exist. For example, did you know there's a restaurant in Brawley called "The Brass Rail?"* I didn't, and neither did anyone I know. But everyone knows there is a Subway on Imperial in El Centro.

Let's face it, all Subway's taste the same. Everyone knows what Subway tastes like, but not everyone knows what Hamburger Stand tastes like.

Furthermore, I think it's pointless to say, list the 30 Jack in the Box's we have in Calexico. In the future, we might. But for now, we'd like to keep it the way it is. But, if you the viewers feel it would be better to have it another way, then well, this site is for you the citizens of the Imperial Valley. So make suggestions.

*Look it up

Where the fuck do you think you live buddy?

Everybody in Calexico has eaten at Hamburger Stand at one time or another. Not because they wanted to, but because they had to.
