I never eat at Chinese buffets (I could tell you guys some horror stories), but I was stuck in Palm Springs with some morons who had their heart set in eating at this "great sushi place." We pulled up to a strip-mall and headed towards a place called Super 8 Chinese Buffet. The place was full of fossils and guys sporting mullets complete with stripper girlfriend attachments. I figured that if I only ate rice, I just might survive this thing. I paid my $5.99 and headed for the grub. To my surprise, the place featured a very well stocked sushi bar of Costcoesque quality. What really took me for a spin were the hot items this place offered:

scallop and shrimp stew

lobster rolls

octopus stir-fry

crab won tons

and many other tasty treats.

I sampled all of the above. I have to admit that all the food was suspiciously delicious. All you can eat lobster for $5.99? There is something very wrong, but delicious, with this place. I just pretended that I paid $25 for this buffet, it was the only way I could enjoy my meal. My denial was not enough to tempt me to try the egg drop soup though.

…maybe those white streaks were really egg after all.

I know there's a poster here (don't want to mention any names) that likes the Chinese food buffet at Hollies. Don't get me wrong the food is Ok, but it was all over when I went to the restroom. Damn, it seem like they hadn't cleaned the restroom in a weeks. The smell was horrible. They didn't even have those little round things of Clorox in the urinals. Not pretty.

I mean we've heard all the stories/stereotypes of Chinese joints in Chicali, but this was bad. They must have paid the health inspector. Well, it just got me thinking about how dirty the kitchen was and I started looking at the food at a different way. I even wondered if my fork or utensils were clean.

Puke

I think I rather see a cucaracha run through the floor then see that restroom again. Disturbinng
