I was just having a conversation with some co-workers about playing marbles. It could just be me, but I think these other guys were playing a totally different game than the ones we used to play.
I remember we had rules to follow and certain things were just not allowed. Bucheros were pariahs to be avoided and tiritos were prized more than money. What other rules or memories can anyone remember? |

Rainbows and upsies.
Ah, there was nothing like going to La Ley or Gigante and looking threw the marble sacks to find the perfect marble. Those damn see through/hole sacks were a teaser. |

I remember marbles was what Mains stood for. Everyone ate, slept, and breathed marbles.
The guy I hated the most was the guy who used to always carry around a peewee with him and one of those boulder marbles. He used to swear he could switch them around during the game. When it was my turn, he switched to the peewee, when it was his turn, he went for the boulder. What an ass.
What was the name of the game where you made a circle with a stick, threw all the marbles you had in the middle, and took turns until all the marbles were out? Yeah, that asshole would use the boulder there too. I remember he used to always carry one of these with him:

The only rules I can remember at the moment are: "funsies" and "keeps". |
