I was watching SportsCenter last night and I saw this Black Athlete who is going to get drafted in tomorrows draft. I cannot remember the kids name.

Anyway, he said that he was expected to go late 1st round through early second. What caught my attention was that he didn't care where he went, what team, what slot, but that all he wanted to do is get drafted so he could buy himself a Mercedes 500 SL. "That's all I want a 500 SL. I deserve it. That's the first thing I'm going to do."

Damn, what ever happen to buying your parents a house. Shit, they put up with your shit for years. Well maybe just the mother or in a lot of cases the Grandma or aunt.

Still, as a late first rounder he probably only will command a 1.5 million dollar contract for 2 years. That's 700K a year. Hey, 700K is a lot of dough, but not if you live a lavish life style. Really think about it. Uncle Sam will tax his ass for a solid 40%, 30% if he has a solid accountant. That leaves him with around 400 k. He still has to pay his agent 15%.
He has to pay insurance on the car. Oh and the car runs close to 200k.
What about his rent or mortage? The bling bling and all his dead beat hommies from the hood. Gots to keep it real.

All that and he still has to make the team. Some don't even get picked up after the end of their first season. But hey, he will have a nice pimpin ride.

I saw ESPN's mock draft and his name is not even in the 1st round. I know I said I could remember his name, but if I would have seen it I would have remembered. My mind plays me like that.
