If its not then this next example would have never happen according to your interpretation of whats in the game or not.
Right before the All-Star game the Cards were playing the Pads. In extras Pujols hits a game winning walk-off HR. He takes his sweet time to look at his HR and then trots around the bases. Bennett the Pads catcher didn't like that and had some words with Cards players after the game. VERY next game on Pujols 1st at bat guess what happens? He gets bean. Yeah, it was a 66 mph breakin ball, but he still got thrown at.
But I guess I never saw this since intentionally hitting a guy is not part of the game. See, you need to this or else you would have someone break out a sharpie and he would sign his bat after hitting a HR. Then he would give it to the 1st base coach as he rounded 1st. By plucking people you don't have show boating and if they do then they get pluck. Thus, its part of the game. |
first off pujols is not terrell owens. second, it's not up to the opposing pitcher to police a show boat, it's the show boats coach. i don't think there's anything wrong in watching your homerun ball fly over the fence. he was proud of it. it was classless of the padres pitcher to throw at pujols the next day. he should have taken the higher road and said, "i'm better than that." in japan, when a pitcher beans a batter, he tilts his hat to let him know it was an accident. if he doesn't, then they got problems. i think thing would be better if the mlb adopted the same respect. |

If betting keeps Pete Rose out of the Hall of Fame, I would hope that everything Canseco does keeps him out. But I doubt that they would keep the first 40-40 (40 homers, 40 stolen bases) major leaguer out of the Hall. |
Why the hell not? They've been keeping the leagues all-time hits leader out for years.

He placed a bet. |
