| I went to B&B during the week and the bill was $29. We have her two 20's. She brings a 10 and a 1 back. Now whose fault is that? Luckily I had some loose ones, but if I didn't were we entitled to give her a 1 dollar tip. I mean you know how long it takes for them to do something there. |

That's the server's mistake here, but what are you going to do? If you leave $1 then you're going to might get some payback on your next visit.
So this makes it very inconvenient for you, the customer. Now you need to spend some additional time trying to get change when you just want to get the hell out of this place. |

She probably had her hopes on you tipping her with the $10. |

Error. Never give the customer the benefit of the doubt. |

Change is supposed to be given out in as little quantity as possible. if his change was $11, then the server was correct to give a 10 and a 1. in that case, you could save the trouble of having to choose between a 10 and a 1 by simply asking the server to give maybe a 5 and six 1s. then the 10 dollar issue wouldn't have come about. |

You don't seem to understand. If the server wants to guarantee their tip, they need to figure out creative methods of obtaining it.
If you've been to many bars or restaurants, an experienced bartender or waiter will always give you singles so that you now don't have any excuses not to tip, except for being straight-out cheap. |

i worked as both a bartender and a server, and believe me, neither is supposed to insinuate any form of a request for a tip. it's unethical for the server to do. a tip must be given out of the kindness of the customer, not because the server gave him/her a bunch of singles. i've actually had to write up servers for shit like that at my old job. |
