| After a painstaking analysis of 62 studies of Ritalin treatment for attention deficit disorder, a team of Canadian researchers says it has found little scientific evidence the drug lives up to its reputation. |

To be honest, I don't even believe in ADD. If that term existed when I was in elementary school, I would've probably been diagnosed as ADD, but instead, people just said I was hyper. |

| It's just legal drug dealing, that's all it is. People make a lot of money off that shit. |

This student of mine was telling me how he got put on ritalin. This is what happened. He is on Medi cal so the government pays for his psychiatirc needs. Of course he can only go to the county mental health department. He was 8 at the time, and his mom told the "DR" that he was active and had trouble paying attention. he gets put on ritalin. The fuckin' Dr. didn't even talk to the kid first. That's bullshit. I don't not claim to be a psychologist, but i do have a minor in psychology which is worthless, but I at least know you should talk to the patient before perscribing any medication.
Basically I agee with Tasty. |

| I agree with both Mars and Tasty. Of course, it all revolves around money. I've read that a lot of doctors prescribe ritalin without really fully understanding ADD and the effects of ritalin. Plus, a lot of doctors actually recieve money from the companies that make the drugs that they prescribe, which leads to the doctors prescribing drugs that aren't really needed. |
