I'm a huge fan of Dark City. I can't believe I never caught any of these similarities. Probably because I'm not really a fan of the Matrix series.

Pretty compelling evidence.

I don't believe I've seen Dark City, but by comparing the available screen captures of both films, it is very convincing.

Either the same person who penned the script for The Matrix also created Dark City's or it is a mere coincidence. The movies were release just one year apart, with The Matrix being the most recent.

Bring in the conspiracy theorists...

It all comes down to marketing. And who does a better job.

I want to see that Dark City, can I rent it at a video store?

Just make sure that you are all coked up and sitting on an uncomfortable chair. Otherwise, you will lose interest in the movie by the time the same shit happens for the twelft time.

Dude, WTF are you babbling about? "Same shit happens for the 12th time." Jesus Christ.

OK, man. Give me an example of something that is that dramatically repetitive in Dark City?

Ame-ricano: Just rent the movie at Blockbuster, or Hollywood Video or wherever you rent movies and judge for yourself.

I remember seeing previews for "Dark City" and thinking that I'd like to watch it, but then I forgot all about that movie until now. Now, I want to see it again (for the first time).

How about.... the whole fucking movie! It's like watching a retarded kid play with Legos. The whole rebuilding of the city and the guy just coming short of unveiling the riddle like twelve times. It gets really old, like Run Lola Run or Memento (another one of your favorites I bet).

I salute anyone who can sit through movies that have to repeat the same shit over and over to be different or build suspense. Isn't this movie like 3 hours long? maybe that's were they lost me.

Well, yeah. If you're a moron.

Yes, Memento is one of my favorite movies. While I wouldn't necessarily call Run Lola Run one of my favorite movies, I did enjoy it.

Yeah. Going out of your way to be different is pretty stupid.

No, it's only 1 hour and 40 minutes long. Maybe you should watch something more your speed.
