Well, what's more important to you national security or due process?

This country has had its share of racist views against minorities.

Let's not forget WWII. Japanese-Americans, and Japanese were sent of to internment camps for an average of 900 days. In Korematsu v U.S. the Supreme Court backed Executive Order 9066. This case allowed the US government to violate these peoples Constitutional right. It wasn't until the 1980's that the US admitted fault and gave 20k to surving members of internment camps.

Same war, Zoot-Suiter were consider to be a threat to National Security.

During the late 1960's in Oakland California Bobby Seale and Huey Newton formed the Black Panthers. The US government called the FBI to set up the COINTELPRO (counter intelligence program) in order to defuse the national threat that the Black Panthers caused. The FBI with the help of local authorities in SD, LA, and other major California cities arrested almost every Black Panther member. Most of the times they went into their homes without warrants and arrested them. In a two week span there were 57 arrest to only 42 Black Panther members. The US government violated the constitutional rights of these cities and for what? To dismantle an organization that wanted equal protection under the law.

Why have the Consitution and constitutional rights if they are not going to be applied every time the government plays the 'a threat to national security' card?

Fuck that dude, his French.

The thing is that in a case were there is a "threat" to national security people panic and they agree to do all these stupid things. I have a friend who, after 911, said that we should fuckin' get rid of all the arabs. People panic and don't think logically or critically, actually most people don't think like that they let there stupid emotions run wild.

My very is a borderline Mecha type guy, so I told him that if all arabs were guilty of 9/11 then all Mexicans are illegal, lazy, criminals. He got were I was going and realized his error.

I am the Bomb!
