does anyone remember E.T. for the atari? Can anyone tell me what the point of this game was? All I remember is running from screen to screen for about an hour and never knowing what I was supposed to be doing? If you can, shine some light.

There was no point to it. To this day, it is still considered the worst video game to ever hit any platform.

No one believes me, but I once got to this point in Raiders of the Lost Ark for the Atari 2600 where I crossed a bridge and a large boulder rolled by and squashed my ass.

I swear, this is the troof!

I remember, about 20 years ago, my older brother was playing an Atari game called River Raid by Activision. Back then you would take pictures of your high scores and send them to the developers, and they would send you crap, like patches and pins and medals to prove that you were the greatest game player ever. Anyway, he said he got so far that there was a picture of him on the game. Needless to say, I didn't believe him. I was pretty young at the time, but I wasn't retarded. But, if someone knows something I don't, and the Atari 2600 was equipped with a hidden camera and some sort of transmitter and receiver that could perform this kind of procedure, please let me know so that I can appologize to my brother for having called him a filthy, filthy liar.

Decades ago, there were three brothers who lived on our street. They were the first kids to have a 2600 on our street. One of these kids was quite fond of Defender. He was pretty good at it too. He was always going on and on about how he was getting close to reaching some ungodly high score, and that when he did, he would get a killer prize or something pretty spectacular would happen.

Sure enough, one day, as we were sitting around watching him shoot the enemies and rescue the monitos, the prick hit that high score, something happened on the screen (some sort of fireworks or flashing or whatever), and then the lights went out all over Calexico. We were in awe.

To celebrate his accomplishment, we all ran out to the edge of Highway 98 and began pelting cars with eggs and rocks. Awesome. Although nowhere near as fun as the night the fog rolled into Calexico. That night was the stuff of legends.

Don't tell me you're going to start denying what happened that night as well?

Deny what? I asked you a question. I don't recall it happening that night.

It was that night. I remember the power went out and I was lost in the house, then after making my way out everyone was staring at the big bright light. All this stuff happened afterwards and that's when we hit the highway.

It was a sign.
