I've noticed a new trend in the beverage industry lately. A lot of new soft drinks are becoming available in the market, so many that it's gotten ridiculous.
First of all, I don't drink a lot of soda, but I do have my favorites. So when I see one of them come out with a new variation, I've got to try it out. The one which has recently caught my attention, but haven't tasted yet, is Mountain Dew LiveWire. An orange flavored rendition of the original Mountain Dew, it's only supposed to be available for the Summer of 2003.
I have to admit that when Mountain Dew first released Code Red I was a little leery. I avoided it as much as I could, but eventually gave it a chance. I really didn't like it as much as the original. How could I possibly turn my back on "the drink of the future"* for a cherry flavored mutation? I don't know, but I ended up giving it a few more tries and now find myself drinking it more than the original.
So I'll have to try out Mountain Dew LiveWire and see if it has the same effect on me as did Code Red.
* It is my theory that in the future, Mountain Dew will be the number one consumed beverage in workplaces, surpassing coffee, since all employees will be forced to work longer and harder hours. In order to sustain these harsh working conditions, they will need to drink the elixir of life. |

| While on the subject. What is up with the Sprite Remix. I saw that today and I got to thinking: What the fuck are they trying to prove with this. |

When I first moved to Phoenix back in December, I stopped at a Circle K to get some coffee and an Amp (enrgy drink from the people who gave you Mountain Dew) and there was this guy right in front of me with five or six one liters of Mountain Dew. The guy turned around and noticed my can of Amp and said, "Wow, an energy drink by Mountain Dew? I've gotta try that." I said, "Man, you must really like Mountain Dew." He answered, "I'm a computer tech, so I need my Mountain Dew."
That moment made me wonder, "Are all computer techs into Mountain Dew?" |

I tried Mountain Dew LiveWire today; 7-11 already has them in stock. Didn't really care for it. I'll stick my neon green Liquid Crack. |

Another new soft drink I've noticed, but doesn't seem to have received much attention is from the makers of 7-up, dn-7.
I'm not exactly sure what this is supposed to be, but I figure it's an "extreme" drink. The label read "with caffeine" which made me wonder what ever happened to their old slogan, "Never had it, never will." |
