I was talking to some huy about this problem with some member at work you owns MD Computers. He told me that it might be my processor. He said that a lot of games are setup for pentiums and not AMD. So I guess I need to buy a a new processor and a mother board. Crap. I was lookig at them at Fry's this weekend and a pentium 1.6 was about 80 dollars and a 2.4 was 169.99
This doesn't include the mother board. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this guy is full of shit. This might have been the case when id Software and Origin Systems used to get paid by Intel to "optimize" their games for the Intel Pentium processor (like over 5 years ago).
I'm able to run this POS game on my computer and below are my machine's specs:
AMD Athlon 1.4 GHz (Thunderbird - 266 MHz FSB)
ASUS A7M266 motherboard
ASUS GeForce2 V7700 Deluxe 64 MB DDR (w/ TV out)
256 MB Crucial RAM (PC2100)
It's most definitely our video card. That thing sucks.
Of course, you can always use that guy's BS as an excuse to buy yourself a new computer.
Where is MD Computers? Is this Computer Hut's new name? I wanna make sure I avoid driving by this place, so please tell me. |

Your computer is probably too slow or just weak. You may want to upgrade to a 1.6 GHz P4. For sure it will work. There may be some other problems so you may need to download something. |

I don't think that's his problem.
I played GTA: Vice City all the way through at 1024 X 768 X 32-bit on my backup PC (Athlon 950 with old school 64 MB GeForce2) and I never had a single drop in frame rate.
I installed the game on my Athlon XP 1900+, 128 MB Radeon 9000 Pro, 512 MB RAM system so I could compare the performance and it really wasn't that much of an improvement (Though I was able to max out the resolution and still have it run smooth.)
GTA: Vice City sucked ass, by the way. |

| On my motherboard I can upgrade up to a Athlon 2000+ XP but I seriously doubt that's going to fix my problem. |

The Hamilton Triad 6VI6 Motherboard will support simultaneous AMD, Intel and Apple PPC chips.
