I was just wondering if there were any gamers on this board who were keeping up with E3 this week as it draws to a close, if so have you seen or heard anything new about any upcoming games?...

so far the coolest thing ive seen was a 8 minute in-game demo of Halo2 from a microsoft press conference. the game is going to be sweet, especially online

if theres any xbox Halo junkies speak up

You want something to get excited about? Check out the Half-Life 2 gameplay video from E3. THAT is fucking sweet.

The only good thing that ever came out of Halo was Red vs. Blue.

and what do you mean red vs. blue was the only thing good to come out of halo? RVB is some funny stuff, but you got to give credit to the multiplayer on halo also

Half-Life 2 will definitely kick some serious ass. Especially when the HL2 Day of Defeat mod come out.

We'll see how DOOM III holds out with it's lack of multiplayer capabilities.

Do, or do not. There is no try.

Credit for what? Surpassing other console First Person Shooters? What exactly is so unique about Halo's multiplayer? Vehicles? CTF? Nothing new there.

Besides, FPSs on a console are a ridiculous notion. It's all about mouselook and keyboard. That's the way we've done multiplayer since DOOM first came out on the PC.

Now, when Halo hits the PC this year, then we're talking (But I seriously doubt it will take up more of my time than Battlefield 1942.) Same for GTA: Vice City (Which I'm gonna be throwing on my PC this weekend.)

I was under the impression that it was going to have multiplayer from a interview on gamespot from one of id's lead designers...even if it doesn't have multiplay it will still be awesome...just look at the GTA games, any multiplay on them?

The game is just plain fun, (especially with vehicles to run over your enemy when you run out of ammo= ) and a sweet physics engine... and besides CTF theres other modes like Juggernaut, king of the hill, race, and oddball among others

of course your going to get more accurate shots on a PC than a console, but using a controller doesn't exactly handicap you either, you could get by, most people do

Haven't played Battlefield 1942, but the only WWII game taking up my time right now is Return to Castle Wolfenstein

There will be no multiplayer in DOOM III. Sure, single player will be fun, the first time around. Then what? Sit around waiting for id to release a patch that adds multiplayer? Might as well pickup Half-Life 2 first and hold off on DOOM III until they add multiplayer, or it hits the bargain bin.

GTA 3 or VC, are hardly awesome. Come one, don't be such a cliché console fanboy. Don't tell me you didn't notice all the gameplay and design flaws in GTA3 or VC. Both games get utterly dull and repetitious about halfway through.

Just like every other FPS on the PC -- since 1996.

Getting by is not what I look for in a gaming experience. If you gave somebody enough time, they'd be able to get by with an old Atari Pong paddle.

Battlefield 1942 is what a multiplayer FPS should be.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein, on the other hand. Straight to the bargain bin, ubersoldat. Finished it in about 6 hours. The only good thing about it were the flamethrowers.

While we're on the subject of multiplayer, if you've got any friends around the Valley that wanna throw down on the PC, tell 'em to come on over to the board and well schedule some games.

I'd really like to see how much of a challenge locals are. Especially if they want to get some Medal of Honor: Allied Assault/Spearhead action going.

do you really want to play, or is that a come on? Shocked

and on another note, i barely finished watching the complete half life2 demo and it looks even more amazing, it will probably have way better gameplay than doom, and significantly dwarfs DOOMIII's penis, if it has one Wink, the downside i saw though, was some of the A.I. you fight against plays weak, compared to Halo....
