If the reports come out positive, SARS has the Imperial Valley cornered. There have been reported, but not yet confirmed, cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in the region.

Indio, CA

San Diego, CA

It is possibly only a matter of time before the first SARS case is reported in the Imperial Valley. I'm holding my breath it doesn't spread this way.

If the news item I just heard on the radio is correct, the incident in Indio has been proven to not be SARS. Of course, knowing my luck, It'll still find a way to creep its way into my life one way or another.

I think this whole SARS thing is made up. Come on, a cold that can kill?

Let's concentrate on the big issues like AIDS and Cancer. Whatever happened to those diseases? Why don't we ever hear about them anymore?

Fuck the war. It wasn't exciting enough.

SARS is a more realistic threat to us. Maybe not as much of a eminent threat as the other viruses that delete your files or spread itself to all your contacts. Still, I've never had my computer infected by a virus and I don't run any anti-virus software, so I'm sure I can keep myself clean.

As I mentioned on http://bbs.calecia.com/viewtopic.php?t=514 ...the first thing that came to my mind was Stephen King's The Stand.

What a relief everyone. I know you guys had all been worrying about the same thing, and yesterday Mike Myers was on Leno (hosted by Katie Couric) and he answered the question that was on everybody's mind. Y

Yes, Toronto is now safe to travel to. The Sars epidemic has been controlled there. Well, now we can all go on that trip we've all been wanting to go to and get some Canadian beer.
