Tie game. 0-0.
Mexico didn't have any of their star players and the US had 9 returning World Cup players. Even with these line-ups, Mexico dominated most of the match. |

La Selecion has promise.
They played without their STAR defensive player in Rafa Marquez and their D played solid. They had some lapses, but still played good enough.
They also played some youngsters and I like that approach. The US had just about all their old stars. There is no real promise for a better future. Though that number 7 looks like the real deal. Still, for the first time in years the Mexican team looked faster than the US team.
Also when Mexico went to the bench they brought some young 20 year olds. While when the US went to the Bench they brought in the "Original" Kobi. Kibi Jones. That should tell you where these two countries are heading.
Mexico has there D set. They also have their mid-field set. All they need is 'el gol' Borgetti missed like 4-5 goals against Brazil. El Bofo played decent enough against the US.
As for Spic-Ole, you just better watch out. Que miras... |

| From what i was hearing during the telecast mexico needs some stability with the coaching they haven't had a steady coach for more than like three years in the past decade. They should quite bitching a give Hugo Sanchez a shot, at least we no his hearts in Mexico and not looking to go else where. |

I think you're forgetting all those years he spent playing in Spain. |

I still remember watching Accion on Sundays. Watching those highlights of Hugo Sanchez playing for Real Madrid were great.
Currently Hugo Sanchez has been doing a stellar job for los Pumas, but he has been getting in trouble with the Mexican Federation. They are the ones who select the Coach for the selecion. Hugo's problem is that he calls it like he see's it. |

Oh how I wish this was true, but the US has a phenom player on the way. At the age of 13, Freddy Adu could be the next Maradona or Pele. Well maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but he'll be as good or better than Ronaldo.
Adu is currently playing for the USA U-17 national team and will be participating in the U-17 World Cup being held in Finland this year. |
