When I first heard of this movie, I was a little skeptical, I was like, "great, another one of these stupid ass movies that stupid kids are gonna watch, copy, and burn out every catch-phrase, style of dressing, and anything else the rappers did in this movie.
The other day I saw this movie and I was completely shocked. I have to admit that I really liked this movie and I would recommend it to everyone. It stars Ice-Cube, Cedric "the Entertainer", Eve, Keith David, and a lot of other black guys. I won't give out the plot, but it deals with a lot of issues like black people needing to rise above ignorance. A major theme in the movie is that black people today don't know shit, and that they need to get a dose of reality. It's cool because the actors say a lot of the things you think about but are unwilling to say. At certain points of the movie, you even want to cheer. Another theme of the movie, is today's youths' loss of identity.
I thought the best part of this movie had to of been when Eddie (Cedric "the Entertainer) screams out, "Fuck Jesse Jackson!!!" |
