I'm the kind of guy that likes to cook every once and a while, and I like cooking different kinds of things, but geez louise are some cookbooks expensive. A while back ago I found this site, and it has to be the most complete cooking site on the web. I has everything from Recipes, cooking tips, equivalents, substitutions, and even an Ingredient Index, which comes in pretty handy sometimes.

I recommend it to the Avid Chef:

While stuff like Iron Chef may be really enrtertaining when you watch it on T.V., when you actually try it at home only to find out that it is not not very entertaining anymore and that it is actually quite hard and messy.

Plus, the point was to be able to reference something at all times, and since web-sites don't close for the night (well not most of them at least) you can reference them at whatever time you need to.

Good luck! Try finding a good free cook book.

Oh and if you do find it, say hello to Pegasus* for me while you're there.

*For those of you who don't know, Pegasus is a winged horse from Greek Mythology whom was captured and mounted by Bellephron in order to destroy the Chimera. Bellephron then attempted to use Pegasus in order to ascend to the heavens, but Pegasus threw him off. Pegasus then flew into the sky to become a part of the constellation.
