If I remember correctly, Golfinger was a local band, which is why they had a bigger following.

No, they are not. According to their Web site, they're a "ska-punk" band from Los Angeles, CA.

As to why they had a bigger following, I'm sure that is attributed to the fact that most, if not all, of their fans were dropped off and/or picked up at the show by their mommy. The people who went there to see the Butthole Surfers, on the other hand, either wound up in jail that night, were too drunk to remember the directions to the venue, or simply passed out at the parking lot.

Mixing Goldfinger with the Butthole Surfers is like mixing Flintstones Vitamins with cyanide capsules. Whoever put that show together was an idiot.

Ok, I remembered incorrectly. You're right though, the majority of those that were leaving as we got there did look like they were still in junior high.

With my experience in the music industry, Rolling Eyes I've found that playing first isn't that much of a bad thing. It's probably the most important part of the show. Think about it, how many times have you gone to a show and the opening band really sucks, so the rest of the show sucks, or, everybody leaves because the opening band sucks.

First band sets the tempo for the rest of the night. I never used to mind it, because if you're good, everyone is gonna compare you to the rest of the bands and say, this band sucks compared to the first band.

If it ain't you're show, there's not much you can do about the line-up, it's whoever is planning the show that's gonna put their friend's band in the middle, and their own band last.

If you're not the headliner, and you're playing with bands in the same genre as yours, it's always best to be the second band to hit the stage. The band with the first set almost always gets hit with a thin, lame, uptight crowd, or at worst, simply becomes background music to those drinking or milling around.

By the time the second band gets up on stage, people have become more responsive to the event. So you wind up with a good, responsive audience, and, you get to kick back and enjoy the headliner.

Question ughhhh if we were the 2nd or 3rd we could get wasted before the show. But i don't think im going to i dont think anyone in our band is going to. Anyways anyone ever heard of a band called 40.oz thieves? If i can im going to bring them back from there long break there taking but that's only if that chick throwing it let's them on the bill. The Bassist from 40.oz thieves "scott", also now plays for a band called "The Vomit Squad". I've never heard any of there songs but there singer says were a lot better then them so hmm i don't know what to think of that. But in more important terms I shall try hard to get them the show in Brawley also sometime this month at Bucklin Park I will be throwing a show with Most likely 40.oz theives No-Standards (maybe) and Underprivileged. Hell maybe even Vomit Squad can join in hopefully scott can manage both bands. Well like usual Thanks For Reading Everyone. Very Happy

I remember in the days of yore, when we used to play, that the older dudes at the gigs would always get busted for “providing alcohol to minors”. We would always get our own beer and Lysol, but it did not matter to the asshole cops. Some of the older dudes didn’t even drink, they where there to check out the bands. If you were over 21 at a teenage gig, you were fair game for the authorities. That is the main reason why I have avoided attending gigs on this side of the border. Has this happened in any of your shows? Do the pigs still do this kind of shit?
