Calexico robbery suspect sought
CALEXICO — Police are still searching for a man who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint here Tuesday afternoon.
Calexico police Lt. Jim Neujahr said the robbery occurred at the USA Gasoline at 1036 Imperial Ave. at 1:45 p.m.
Neujahr said an unidentified suspect walked into the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk and asked for the cash in the register. The suspect then fled on foot east on Paulin Avenue with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a blue shirt with blue pants and carrying a black bag. The clerk reportedly told police that the suspect was wearing a wig.
Those with any information regarding the robbery are asked to call Calexico police Sgt. German Duran at 768-2140.
