paper clip
n.
A wire or plastic clip for holding sheets of paper together.
For holding sheets of paper together? Obviously the inventor of the paper clip didn't know there would be hundreds of other useful uses for their invention and most of them thought up during childhood.
My favorite has to be creating those jumpy things. I have no idea what the official name is, but they consist of bending the clip into a triangular shape. Afterwards you twist it a bit, then connect the end-points so that they are barely touching. Next you stand the clip on it's vertex and let it drop*!
Like stated, there are tons of other uses such as sling-shots, earings and more. Share some, won't you?

Some of the girls where I work used paper clips to attempt suicide. They did this by straightening out the clips and then shoving them into the veins at their wrists! When they were taken to the hospital the doctors found that the clips had gotten as far as the shoulders! |

Screw the paper clip. It trembles before the might of the match and tinfoil rocket.
WARNING: Not my fault if you wind up homeless or disfigures, so use your best judgment.
THAT MATCH AND TINFOIL ROCKET THING REVEREND RAMROD WAS TALKING ABOUT ON Calecia.com
1. Get yourself three matchbook matches, huddle them together (must be parallel, match heads at the same end) and wrap the heads in tinfoil.
2. While holding the tinfoil-wrapped end, fold out each of the three match legs about 35-45 degrees outward to form a tripod.
3. Set it upright in an open area, and place a lit match beneath the tinfoil-wrapped match heads. If done properly, the mofo will launch 10-20 feet into the air.
4. Beg mommy and daddy to send you to Space Camp this summer. Tell them Reverend Ramrod said it was OK. |

For best results, use the foil inside of empty cigarette packs. |

As opposed to what? Foil from a weather balloon?
The foil from the wrapper of a stick of gum will work equally well. |

The tin foil from a piece of chewing gum is a lot heavier, in comparison to that of a cigarette pack. In fact, most gum wrappers have an extra film inside which seems to be made out of some synthetic material. Not to mention the gum residue/powder you need to remove.
I'm no scientist, but I'm pretty sure this hinders the altitude that one of these rockets can achieve. |

Some of the gum wrappers, yes. I believe Wrigley's are thicker and ridged, thus adding more weight (and friction, if you wanna get all scientific and shit.) But, the majority of gums wrappers, when properly peeled, yield good results.
The reason for stressing the gum wrapper factor is that not everyone has access to cigarettes, but anyone can come across a tinfoil gum wrapper.
Think of the kids. Would you deny them the joys of your youth? |
