I heard that the people running calexico are complete morons.
Does anyone know if it's true? If it is, why?

I don't know if they are morons but I think it has definitely something with the Big Fish running the Little Pond. They probably aren't qualified to be running the city but since in such small towns it is basically a popularity contest I would be hard to change that. I think this is the case in all small towns across America.

These kinds of things tend to happen a lot mainly due to the fact that regular citizens are too busy, too apathetic, or too lazy to get involved in local politics (or at least this is the case in my town). When 3 people attend a city council meeting, it's shocking. No one ever goes. Chances are if you go, you're the only person there.

I completely lost faith in the people who continue to run this city the day they blew off our idea to build a skate park during a city council meeting.

I will never have faith in a politician again. Crying or Very sad

Do local political decisions really affect our slacker lifestyles? The only way they have affected me is when I pay another fraction of a cent when I buy beer.

The problem as I see it, is that it's the same people for years and years (and years) running the show. Now it's their offspring too. The "City Council" is a joke. I read the Calexico Chronicle weekly. Hell - it's better than a Greek Tradgedy - laughter and tears...pathos. Do these people really know how to run a city? The laughingstock of a Mayor you have is a beaut.... Oh., lets go to China! The Chinese want to invest here! Yeah, right Buddy. Do you honestly think they wouldn't take their business 100 yards south to Mexicali, to avoid EIR's? To avoid taxes? To avoid having to deal with noise/water/air pollution regulations? Come on!! Look what happened to Calexico Tissue Co. Hmmm.... have you received a check lately from them? Thought so.... I tired years ago to get money for baseball umpires, to keep 70 some kids off the streets daily - and I was TURNED DOWN. It's time to open your freaking eyes, look how your city is decaying from the inside out. It's time to take a stand! VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBANTS OR ANYONE WHO HAS EVER SERVED PUBLIC OFFICE IN CALEXICO BEFORE. These clowns are leading the city down a path of RUIN. Shocked

If you vote that all politicians are morons, then decide to do something about it and run for office, does that make you a moron?
