National Guard Called in To Protect Oscars

California's National Guard have been called in to Sunday's Academy Awards to help protect stars from potential terrorist attacks. Authorities in the Golden State have kitted out troops with a mobile testing lab to quickly detect any chemical or biological threat. State Governor Gray Davis says, "I can say the Academy Awards will be as safe and secure as any awards ceremony ever held. The value to the Los Angeles Police Department is that the lab can get results within 30 minutes."

Fuck yeah they're priorities. What if Sam Raimi got blown up? We'd never get to see Evil Dead 4 or Spiderman 2. And if Peter Jackson were killed, we'd never get to see part 3 of The Lord of the Rings.

So far so GOOD.

No one has died or been captured at the Oscar's.

Good to know that there are plenty of star studed post-oscar parties tonight in tinseltown.

And the Oscar goes to...
