I was perusing the Calexico Police Department Web site the other day and I realized that all the content provided on there is positive. From the PAL program to the photo gallery, everthing is good news.

I understand that there isn't a lot of crime in Calexico, compared to other cities, but if the police department is going to put up a Web site then it should be as informative as possible to it's citizens and not just be filled with self-praise. For Christ's sake, the telephone number is located on the bottom of the page and is sized very small.

That's minor stuff, but what I'm really interested in seeing is a directory of sex offenders with their home/work address, as required by Megan's Law, and a list of the most wanted criminals in the city along with any alerts that may be available. There are a lot more useful services the police could provide online to it's customers.

I'd like to send the Calexico Police Department a letter (it would have to be by regular mail, since I have concerns about them actually checking their e-mail) with my concerns. Although it would be a lot better if it included your concerns as well. They are not doing their best to service the community and this needs to change ASAP by being a lot more pro-active.

It pisses me off that they always patrol the nice safe areas of town and not the ones that actually need patrolling. They are bunch of pussies. All they do is stalk drivers who have had a couple of beers. I have walked through downtown many-a-night, and it doesn’t feel safe. Specially the alleys. Where the fuck are the cops? Or what about the cholo-plagued neighborhoods? Where the fuck are the cops?

I'm told that there are two registered sex offenders in my National Guard unit! Shocked They kicked a guy out of the unit for failing a drug test and failing to go to rehab, but these two chesters are still in?!?!?!?!? Confused And what's even funnier is that one of these guys always volunteers to be Santa for our Christmas party! Shocked

I remember being told that we have at least 17 child molesters/sex offenders in Calexico alone. This info should totally be public info, but it's not.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. These are enough sex offenders to put numerous citizens at risk.

They can be anywhere. In our schools, churches, day care facilities... why don't we all know about them?

After the lawsuit was filed by the former altar boy, Galindo was sent in 1983 to Our Lady of Guadalupe in Calexico, where he stayed for three years until retiring because of declining health.

Thankfully, my parents nevered forced me to become an alter boy, like they made me go to church every Sunday.
