I paid almost $40 for a full tank (14 gallons) of gas on Saturday. 91 octane was $2.85.

Gas in San Diego on Monday was 20 cents cheaper than in Calexico (Imperial Valley). Why?

I can't believe people are being ripped off at the pumps and no one is really doing anything about it. And I don't mean e-mailing that damn gas pump protest chain mail.

I can't believe people actually buy 91 octane simply because it is suggested by the manufacturer. Sucker.

I know. I wouldn't be doing it, except for the fact that I've read of numerous encounters with my specific vehicle that using lower octane gasoline causes a continuous pinging sound to come from the car after a some time.

I've never taken the risk myself and I'm not about to start experimenting.
