A little old, but the El Centro NAF has cancelled this year's air show due to the terrorism high alert (which was recently dropped back down to yellow). Although I believe I saw some jets (possibly the Blue Angels) in formation earlier today.

It's been years since I've been to the air show to see the Blue Angels. The most fun I think I ever had there was actually playing Zaxxon in one of the hangers. |

zaxxon kicked ass!!!
i think it's been about 17 yrs since i last went to the air show. it doesn't bother me, but we can't let ourselves worry about terrorism. that just means they won, and we lost. let's get the air show back up and running. |

| The Blue Angels are busy training to disorient the Iraqis with their "diamond formations" and "close range crisscrosses". |

The las time I went to see the Blue Angels I was able to avoid all those long lines and crap, I was able to go backstage to see the magic happen because a friend of mine (who works at the navy base) snook me and a friend of mine in.
I so regret going, there's no magic, just a bunch of fat guys smoking.
btw, anyone ever feel cool about meeting these people? Maybe it's just me, but I never got excited about meeting them, or getting their autographs, but a lot of other people did. hmmmmm |

Last week I was at a fast food restaurant during lunch and two Blue Angels pilots walked in. Some dude got real excited to see them and started asking them questions about the air show being cancelled and so on. After they stopped, he pulled out his cell phone and called his wife/girlfriend and let her know that he just finished talking to the Blue Angels.
I almost blew iced tea through my nose 'cause of how pathetic that was. |
