Actually, a better Mexican food restaurant can be found somewhere around 2nd St. (east of Super Shopping, now Apple's) by the name of Don Poly's. They serve up very good chiles rellenos and a variety of other good meals for a low cost. |

I used to think the Bacon Double Western was the best burger in fast food, but I have to say that they no longer make it the way they used to. The meat seems drier and the onion rings aren't as good either. I think my new favorite is Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger from Jack. I also like the Bacon Jr. Cheeseburger from Wendy's, although it takes 3 or 4 of those to satisfy my appetite. |

D'Poly's is very good. If you ever go there I highly recommend the D'Poly Burrito. |

| If you want good Mexican food, go to a Mexican's house. If you don't know any Mexican's, I recommend Celia's in El Centro. They have pretty good authentic Mexican food and at a good price too. It's located next to the Kragen on Imperial. |

If you want better Mexican food this side of the border, check out La Fuente in Imperial. It's just past the IV Expo (fair grounds) to your right (if you're headed north) and is a family owned establishment. All their meals are very good, but just remember to take cash because that's all they accept. |

Does anyone know if Foster's Freeze is still any good?
I went there a while back and some little 15 year old cholio made my Big Boss and it tasted like shit.
If the quality is good again. I wouldn't mind going. |

| The thing is i have a special place in my stomach for chilli cheese fries. I went to fosters a couple months back. The CCF wern't to hot and the hamburger was ok, but i just can't dig when some how the grease is on top of the buns, inside it's ok, but when the outside of the bun is greasy it's pretty annoying. I wouldn't recommend it unless you like your buns greasy, no pun intended, well maybe a little pun was intended. Any how i love CCF and the best i have found in the valley are at hamburger stand, i've tried denny's, rally's, fosters, jack's, and haven't found any better. does anyone have any recomendations? |

The quality of the food is not the same as when that cult family owned and operated the one in Calexico, but it's still very good. They took pride in their food and service. Even then, they had a cholio-looking person on the grill, but it was always the same guy and he was very consistent with the quality of food.
Now, I guess the FBI caught on to this family (I saw the dad being arrested on Clark Rd. by a CHP) and they had to sell off this restaurant. Now who better to buy it out than the owners of the one in El Centro, right? Wrong.
This is when the quality degraded. Don't get me wrong, it's still good and I eat there occasionally, but it's just not the same. One of the major differences with the burgers is that they don't use romaine lettuce anymore. Another one is that the fries taste very different, kinda like Chinese food.
The new owners, as you probably noticed, are Asian (most likely Chinese), so we sometimes call it Foster Lee's. Anyway, it's still very good and I still prefer those hamburgers over any other here in the valley, that is until they bring in an IN-N-OUT BURGER. |
