Last night I attended the Imperial Valley Symphony's Spanish-inspired concert at the Southwest High School auditorium in El Centro. It was rather pleasant. Admission was free (donations were accepted) and the auditorium was very comfortable.
One of the two solo violinists was unable to make it because his car's transmission had broken down in Tijuana. A typical excuse for a paisa, wouldn't you say? The conductor cracked a joke about him just being a tag along anyway and I kind of thought that was a borderline racial slur.
Anyway, they're having another concert sometime in April which I think I'll attend if I'm around.
