a variation of this shot was used in a music video by calexico. they also use a shot of the border motel.
i saw this photo in the gallery section of the web site. i just thought it'd be cool to show. if only i could find that video on the net, to set up a link. it's called The Crystal Frontier. |

so i saw on the events page here at Calecia.com that calexico are scheduled to play at rodney auditorium on july 7th. i checked out the tour page for the band(casadecalexico.com) and didn't find any information about the show in calexico. so, are they or aren't they? cos i've been a fan for a few years now and i'd love to see them here in calexico. i was even quoted in the valley press(cos i play calexico songs on my radio show) when they did an article on them.
so, yeah. just curious. |

Yes, it is completely true.
Calecia.com has been working on getting the band to play in the city of Calexico for months, way before the local news article was written and/or published. The band's Web site does not reflect the show, but it is confirmed.
This will be a benefit concert to promote border crossing death awareness and all the proceeds will be gifted to a charity supporting the cause.
