BRAWLEY — After 25 years of radio waves, The Valley’s Q96 radio station will be moving to San Diego and will no longer reach the area.
The new location will reach only to the Mt. Springs grade in the mountains between San Diego and Imperial County, said Station Manager Tony Driskill. The target date for moving is Jan. 9.

GOOD RIDDANCE!

In my long list of reasons for moving to San Diego, Q96 was included. It only brings back dreadful memories of horrible music and DJ Toby's annoying voice blasting everywhere I went. Q96 seemed to be be only loved by the most annoying of IV residents, principally Brawley faggot jocks.

Fuck you Q96. You sucked in my home town and you will suck even more in San Diego. I hope you go under simply for coming back to haunt me when I thought I had left you for good.

I can appreciate pop music, but q96 plays the same 20 songs all day, every day. Plus, their on-air personalities are not great. They will have a tough time getting a piece of the San Diego pie, I think.

But that leads to the broader issue. No one understands the challenges q96 will face in that market better than Cherry Creek Radio (the company that owns the Q). They've chosen to leave a market they had cornered for a market with very stiff competition. They must be doing it because even though they're the only game in town -- when it comes to top 40 at least -- they are not pulling in advertising revenue. One more sign IV businesses are in historically bad shape.

So much hate... You'll likely be cursed with your offspring ending up passionately listening to Top 40 music.
