As the new District 1 county supervisor, Louis Fuentes is obviously out of the Calexico city council (He'll be sworn in as sup. on Tuesday). The position will now be filled with an interim city council member, since the city council has decided not to hold a special election. The selection will be made at the following city council meeting this Thursday at 6:00 PM.
Any thoughts on who will become the interim city council member?
Also, was it a smart decision by the city not to hold a special election considering our current economic situation? |

i heard that Ulises Cardenas has some good ideas..but i think it'll be another Frank Salazar. |

No. He is a local businessman and part of the CLX Planning Commission. |

Sure, why not, run for council. : )
Ulises is a substitute teacher and was going to run for council next year. He and Bill Hodge are the only two declared candidates for next year. The other possilbity if to have Lewis Pacheco fill that spot since he was fourth place last year. He might run for council next year. |
