I saw the game, recorded it on my DVR and watched it twice. I saw a Mexican team that looked intimidated at times. Terrible at dribbling and passing. Several missed goal opportunities. WTF? I'm sick and tired of watching el tri play like a bunch of pansies. The only two good things from that game was Gio's amazing pass to Sabah for the 1st goal and Vasco's oopsie daisy kick on Ricardo Phillips as the ball was headed outside. At least he showed some damn HUEVOS and got into it! Man, if I was 10 years younger I'd be fighting for every possesion like it's my last one! Freakin Panama? No mames wuey. I'm trying my best to be optimistic, but every time we play it gets uglier and uglier. I truley miss la seleccion from 1998 Francia and 2002 Korea/Japon. Those guys brought everything they had on to the field. What's your take fellows? |

| A while back I posted a question: does anyone here think Mexico will win a World Cup anytime soon? They're now struggling with teams they used to beat 4-0 or 5-0. We all know what the problems are, it's just that the FMF guys only care about filling their pockets with the sponsors' and loyal fans' money, the hell with youth and football development. For a long time I've thought that "la seleccion" doesn't deserve the immense amount of love that the fans have for them. And as for what Aguirre did, he'll be getting a major suspension. And this is only the Copa Oro! Here's hoping things do get better, but, the way things are going... |

Lately, people have spread the blame to the FMF, but to be this bad for so long, the blame has to be blame to anyone associated with this national team. FMF, directors, owners, coaches, and players.
This morning I was watching a 2004 match between Ecuador & Mexico (Mex 2-1) that was coached by Lavolpe. I was never a big fan of his, but I have to say that they had a clear chance at goal within 2-3 minutes of the game. The team passed the ball quickly and forward (sometimes backwards, but with intentions of attacking). Then they had long vertical passing. All in all I saw until the scored their first goal of a penalty kick. The only reason I caught the first 20 or so minutes was to compare the state of this current team. And while I feel this team is more talented physically, they do not know how to play collectively. There is no style, cohesion, and understanding on what they should do.
Oh, and if Aguirre is suspended for 6 games, he should be shown the door. What he did was unprofessional. The first thing he said coming in, was that no one, I mean no one, would lose his cool during any game. Well, he did and he should be shown the door. What a pussy by not manning up and saying he kicked the player.
The biggest problem this team has is a lack of understanding from a players stand point of where they stand on this team. The musical chairs has not and will not work. Pick your base and put your name behind it. Live and die with 10-13 players. Make a commitment and hope that they respond. |

This morning I was watching some great Mexican programming which was interviewing the Haiti national coach. The interview focused on Haiti's work ethic.
It seems that when the goalie throws a lil tantrum, he removes himself from practice. Other players can leave the practice field whenever they are tired. Others are seen doing sit-ups in the shade. In sum, this is not a team with any control. If Mexico does not win by at least 5 goals, then Aguirre and the rest are a joke. |

4-0 ain't too shabby. If damn A.Medina knew how to score I would have nailed it. Damn tease.
The highlight of the tourney is G. Dos Santos. The man is playing lights out. I guess this team plays a lot better when Aguirre watches from above. |

Agree about Gio. He's playing like the player we all got hyped about a few years ago.
One of the Univision commentators joked about Aguirre maybe sitting out the games if that's what it takes for Mexico to keep winning. |
