I saw Red Dragon, yesterday, and I thought it was much better than Hannibal. It had a lot of good actors and even Hopkins toned it down a bit from his ridiculous voice in Hannibal. If you've seen the Red Dragon that was released in the eighties, this one is very much like it. The new one is better, but it's a lot like the old one, except for 2 or 3 differences.

There have been some previews for a movie called "Ring" or "The Ring", that's about a videotape, if watched, your phone will ring and 7 days later you'll die. It seems interesting. I don't know who's in it, so if Freddie Prinze JR. or the guy from Dawson's Creek is in it I will be very embarassed that I posted this. Does anyone know anything about it? Does it look good?

The Ring for some reason reminds me too much of that movie with Stephen Dorff called "Fear Dot Com." Dorff's movie sucked and I have the same expectations for "The Ring." I read, I think, in a Rolling Stones magazine that there was a movie made either in Japan or China about a video that when played would cause the viewer's death. Sound familiar? This movie was made a while back and was supposed to have been a hit in its country. Maybe this movie will have the same effect here.

The Ring was originally released in Japan....it is a very good movie and you should check it out if you know Japanese....or if you can find one with subtitles Very Happy .....for the message which implied this was a knock-off of feardotcom.....i assure you it is not. Fot this movie came out a long time before it, so if anybody copied someone....it wasnt The Ring. The ring was very popular in Japan.....and it was actually made into a tv series. The movie also received a prequel and sequel after its success. To tell you the truth I am very skeptical about the american version of the ring....because it seems so toned down from the japanese version which was very very good. I will go see it today....expecting a better movie than the japanese version....but will also not be surprised if i am dissapointed.

The guy from Dawson's Creek is in The Rules of Attraction, based on the Bret Easton Ellis book of the same name. He plays Sean Bateman, brother of Patrick Bateman, the hero of the greatest novel in contemporary American literature, American Psycho.

Both books are great reads.

I'm sure this movie will not do the book justice, as was the case with American Psycho.

the greatest novel in contemporary American literature, American Psycho.

That would only be true if the reader has a camera lense view of contemporary American Lit.

Camera lens view of contemporary American literature. What a lame, pompous insinuation. Don't imply that a person is of weak literary constitution simply because they hold a novel like American Psycho or it's ilk in high regards. It's bad enough you didn't get the sarcasm in the statement to begin with, and I'm not going to waste my time explaining it to you.

Just one thing, though. A person shouldn't use the abbreviation "Lit" when discussing literature outside the classroom environment. It lessens the impact of their arguement.

Just a friendly reminder that typos also weaken and argument. But feel free to stay in the place you're at now.
