Calexico Men's Softball League, Who's in?

All right Calecianos, I really, really, with majic sprinklers and flowers on top, would like to make a Calecia.com team. For those of you who dont know how to play, no problem. It's easier than riding a bike with training wheels. Don't expect to be in the Championship and win it all. But if we can get 5 or six wins out of 25 games, well that's an accomplishment! I've got some gloves, bats, and softballs to go out there to get us started. As for uniforms, a buddy at work can get us some BAD ASS JERSEYS and ball caps for less than $30 bones with your
name/number and a whatever logo we come up with. The Calecia.com logo would be a good start. After reading the IV press, there will be a meeting this Thursday at 730pm which I plan to attend to get all the details. The cool thing is that all games are at around 6pm and 8pm twice a week. All right people here is the 411: As of right now, there is a total of 8 teams that are in because they paid. Fee per team is $300 bones. a total of 18 players per team. Games to be played Mondays and Thursdays at 6pm or 730pm. Games are 7 innings or 1h 15min. Each team pays $12 bones for the ump. Style of play is semi fast. Papita! All right here it is: Men's softball semi-fast pitch. Which means underhand half wind up, similiar to what the females play. It's not slow pitch, so expect the ball to come abit faster. Games are played every Mondays and Thursdays at 6pm and 730pm at the Calexico Water Plant Softball Field. 7 innings or 1 hr and 15 min, which ever one comes first. So far there is a total of 8 teams that have registered and paid there fee of $300 per team. There is an additional fee of $12 per team to pay for the umpire. The league starts August the 18th. A max of 18 players per team. So far I got 8 people commited 100% from Calecia.com and still counting on some more. Pending on how many people I get, I'll breakdown the math and see how much everyone gotta pitch in. I have a team captain's meeting tomorrow at the Calexico Parks and Recreation office at 730pm and will get more details. I want to set up a practice This Saturday at 1030am at the Casitas Soccer/Football/Softball/Ultimate fresbee/horse shoe field. Here's the driving directions:

Please don't expect to get scouted by some MLB team, this is just for FUN! NO die hard, roid freak, bittered "I had a chance to play pro baseball but f'cked my rotator cuff", Jock. I'm just looking for guys who are willing to play and have some fun that can bring their family, drink some brews after the game and just chill. I'm descent at best but love playing sports.
