I'm not sure who or what invented this great game, but my all-time favorite has always been Tubito. I only got a chance to play during my elementary school days at Mains starting at around the 4th grade. The game was simple...
Two or more players hung around the (one and only) backstop on the field across from Mr. Yturalde's and Ms. Jones' classroom. All that was needed was this backstop and one soccer ball. Nothing more.
The point of the game was to kick the ball against the front of the backstop, tubitos included. Your goal was to have the ball rebound as far away as possible or at the most difficult angle to make it unbelievably impossible for the next player to hit the front/inside of the backstop. It was "golden" when the ball bounced off the tubito and rolled hundreds of feet away.
Oh, how I long to play this wonderful game again. |

what i loved was that whoever missed had to get inside the backstop and dodge the ball that was kicked. at least that's the way it was when i played. maybe it was just a variation of the game....why was i always inside the backstop? |

It's about time we told you. That rule was made up. We just thought it would be cool to hit you with the ball. Sorry. |
