When is it this time?

Today, Friday or September 16th?

"Calexico will not have a fireworks display this year; however the Calexico Chamber of Commerce has joined with other local chambers to put on the annual Freedom Fest at IVC on Friday night."

Skies to be lit at IVC, Calipatria

I guess it's the right thing to do considering the city is "strapped" for cash.

I've never been to the IVC event, but honestly that's too far to bother.

I like the idea of Calexico doing it's own thing even though it's costing the city money. Any clue how much the city saves by joining the county-wide celebration?

It's just funny to me reading this as a sign for July 4th on the corner of Andrade and Highway 98 says there will be a fireworks display... I guess it will be just snakes and sparklers.. Confused

Exactly. There's one on the corner of Rockwood and 98 as well.

So will Calexico hold its own celebration?

I read that the PAL will be having a 4th of July laser show at Crummett Park. I think it's tonight.

It turned out to be laser tag for the kids. I got in the fun though, for the hefty price of 10 bucks for 7 minutes. I kicked ass! My skills where unmatched!
